Have been on Ozempic (Semaglutide) for 6 weeks now & I started off at a weight off at 128KG & now am 120KG has anyone had a similar weight loss or does anybody think this might be too fast?

Hello there. I am currently trying to lose weight (it's been getting higher and higher over recent years resulting in my last HbA1c being over 8% and my liver showing signs of distress again). Anyway over the last 7 weeks I have lost around 7kg so it is on a par with your result

The big question is, though, can you explain your weight loss? Have you changed your diet? Are you taking more exercise? etc.

Assuming you can, may I congratulate you on such excellent progress. 🙂

I believe that most of that will be weight water (esp if you've cut carb levels) so things should slow down - I lost 20lbs in a similar period - now it's about 1lb per week. If you've changed your diet then this is fine (smaller portions, cutting out a lot of high processed, sugary foods etc). If you haven't really changed anything, then that may be a cause for concern and it may be worth speaking to your GP about it, in case you are not a T2 but something else.

Thank you for your reply,I have changed my diet to smaller portions as I cant eat bigger with this injection so that makes the weight loss understandable, congratulations on your weight loss too.

Everything you mentioned I have done,no processed food, all fresh, smaller portions so Im happy that the weight loss is natural. Its nice to have this forum to ask others their experiences so thank you.

Hi Medvejonok,

Given what you've said, it does sound like a natural outcome of changing your diet. I'd keep an eye on it and if you notice any dramatic changes then speak with your doc. Congrats on making healthy changes 🙂

Congratulations on the weightloss @Medvejonok

Hope it continues steadily towards your target weight 🙂
