im finding it difficult to get income protection because I have diabetes.
I'm 58 years of age.

I hate to be a killjoy, but I have a strong feeling you'll not be in luck, for anything longer term than accident insurance.

Have you had this in the past and are replacing that, or is this is the first time you have looked?

I would advise you to see an independent financial advisor, who should be able to do look at several potential providers, and the research for you.

No, I just wanted to take policy out. This is the first time.

How did you manage it ?

Hi there - To be honest, I adopted a simple approach.

I bought myself blood sugar testing meter and a load of strips, and began testing, to learn which foods (and drinks) raised my blood sugars. For those foods and drinks raising my blood glucose too much, I either ate less of them, or turned my back on that food or drink.

The personalised feedback really helped me make sense of things and learn a lot about my body.
