thought i felt off colour only knew yesterday when i was in pain and was getting blood from the stoma. i do have a rescue pack and anti-inflammatory for irritation but boy was the pain bad.

just don't fancy another 7 hour stint like i did with my partner 111 only to get an ambulance but do have the option of a+e.

so far this morning the pain feels a little better but do need a sample taken to see what type of infection has got in.

this is all i need then again had it so many times over the years you think i would be used to it. last time though it put me in hospital for a month.

well this might explain why my diabetes levels have been going haywire.

If you call A&E is there a way you could get there yourself if they ask you to attend?

I'm just thinking that the ambulance service are stretched so should be saved for life threatening at the given time situations, I'm not saying your issue isn't serious but up here I know of someone who waited over 16 hours for an ambulance after their mother had a suspected stroke which is absolutely crazy

Anyway I hope your on the mend soon
xx

So sorry to hear you have an infection Mike. Hope your recue pack gets to work on it soon and does the trick and don't forget to replenish it ready for "next time"! Keep us posted with how you get on.
How are you coping emotionally? I have been thinking of you in the last few days particularly and worried that you will be finding things very difficult now that the funeral is over and done with and you have perhaps more time to reflect on your loss.
Have you started playing that guitar yet?
Sending more (((HUGS)))

yes i would be able to make my way to hospital as it is only a 10 minute ride and a lot faster than waiting for an ambulance. i am praying that the rescue pack works i just don't like 111 and all the mucking around. that is what they did with my partner.

with me having a stoma i am under care of district nurses and they do come to see me so there is that option trouble is they are sometimes limited as to what they can do esp in cases of passing blood. many times over the years i have been to the doctors and even then they send me up to a+e

touch wood so far keeping on top of pain and not seeing blood so hopefully a good sign. still hurt like crazy yesterday.

Then make her smile again by picking it up and strumming it.
Practice makes perfect!

well got up this morning and only at it again with pain so ringing doctors first thing in morning esp with passing blood just before the weekend. also i am under surgical so am going to chase up to see what they recommend as this has now been going on too long.

talk about getting fed up with these ongoing infections.

So sorry to hear you are no better Mike. Hope you are able to get something from the GP tomorrow to improve things. Please keep us posted.

Sorry to hear the rescue pack doesnt seem to have sorted your infection out Mikey.

Hope your pain comes down, and the infection clears up speedily.

Get that guitar in your hands at every opportunity matey! It will love you for it.

mike and Barbara apart from antibiotics to try and clear this thing up what is really needed is a fresh bowel scan to see how bad the disease has become as i am still under surgical. doctors can only do so much and they do what they can for me. so difficult with endless lockdowns and only getting hospital phone consultations. i will have to see if i can get my doctors to write to surgical to see if they can see me somehow.

job done doctors appointment booked in for this afternoon. only got the sodding runs and have to get some essentials this morning will be a mad dash and hope for the best.

waiting for the doctors appointment but have contacted my district nurses and the thinking is that with having a stoma on last examination it was slightly red and it looks like bugs have now got in. loosing count of how many times this has happened. guess i am a bug attractor 🙂

job done spoke with the doctors starting treatment but if not working then blood works and referral to urology esp with bleeding.

Glad you’ve had some progress Mikey.

Fingers crossed the treatment is effective for you.

feel so stupid sat there with bleeding going when i should of gone to a+e now because of my actions could be facing invasive treatment.

guess this is how things go from bad to serious and life threatening.

just praying that the treatment works if not i know where it is heading.

One thing I have found in this pandemic is it's too easy to decide something isn't serious enough to trouble the NHS, when we don't really know.

My poor OH, who has been a martyr to his ears for years has been struggling for recurrent infections for 4 months now. Was eventually seen face to face just before Christmas, after 4 prescriptions for drops didn't clear things. Send to see an audiologist, who declared he ears "too tricky", so now off to ENT - ideally some time this millennium.

His chosen ENT bod is relatively local, but even privately, his list is long, so out takeaway message has been, sometimes when you know something isn't right, then we need to be more assertive.

(Anyone knowing me will think, "More assertive"? Is that possible? Well, it seems it must be!)

Hopefully you'll not need anything invasive Mikey. You could certainly do without any of that.

the problem i have is that the bleeding has been coming from the bladder did have a little bit yesterday but not as bad as Friday. i have a catheter fitted which goes through a stoma in my abdomen then goes some how in to the bladder amazing how they do this. the downside i have had this for around 11 years and know there is all ways the risk of bladder cancer.

there are 2 options they could go for invasive of cystoscopy or non invasive of ct scan i have had the latter before just hoping to god though that i don't have to go down any route. there is a blood test available as i have prostate issues to check for signs of cancer.

the antibiotic is a general one as i am not sure what is really infected and it is hard for doctors to do stuff down a telephone line.

i am up at the hospital next week for a mouth cancer check as i had a growth removed came back okay but then a year later dentists only found another one the worst thing is i don't smoke sort of says it all. the strange thing is when i checked i can't seem to see anything so it must be deep back of tongue.

after nearly 2 weeks still cannot shkae of this infection and be blown last week only started bypassing urine instead of the catheter taking it. i noticed each time though that my urine has been burning suggestive of a UTI infection. i was put on a general antibiotic but looks like i need something more specific.

telephoned 111 this morning and after what seemed like 20 plus options later i got stright through couldn't believe it, last time it took 2 hours for my partner then several hours of mucking around.

thankfully the bleeding has stopped now if it hadn't it would of been an a+e job.
