I use a contour next with my pump a slightly modified one that sends the results to the pump and I can say it’s the best meter and Lance setup I ever had, it reads the slightest little drop of blood and will let you have another go if it doesn’t get enough of a sample, i find myself hardly getting any blood but it always seems to be enough. I’d recommend it all day long especially to people who have issues to get a sample
Yes it can - if you are a blood donor, they like you to drink a litre of water between telling reception you've arrived for your appt and anything else happening at all.I have been told by a nurse at the diabetes clinic that difficulty in obtaining a reasonable drop of blood may result from being insufficiently hydrated.
Ouch! I never realised they were that expensiveVery expensive strips if you are self-funding though Paul. Can’t remember exactly, but if memory serves they were 3x the cost of SD Gluco Navii or Tee2 strips.
They are great meters though. Very accurate too, and give reliable results strip-to-strip in my experience. I’ve used one for the past 4 years, and still use it now, though I’m hardly using fingersticks since I started self-funding the Dexcom G6 🙂
