I’ve just had a thought. That in its self is worrying! As I’m officially on the Extremely Clinical Vulnerable list will I get the vaccine before the Clinical Vulnerable? Some lists I’ve seen suggest this is the case, others just put us in ‘ over 65s and those 16-64 with underlying conditions”( I’m 60). I’ve hated been classed as Extremely Clinical Vulnerable and have basically ignored the fact, I didn’t need the food parcels or priority slots for supermarket deliveries, but I’m quite happy to milk it if I get the vaccine early. I know clarification isn’t high on the government’s priorities. Has anyone under the age of 65 on the ECV list heard or know anything about it?

The last list I saw, @eggyg , said that the extremely clinically vulnerable would be done at the same time as the over 70s, (then the ordinarily vulnerable are being done just after the over 65s).Will see if I can find where I read that.
Edit. Here, on the Gov.U.k. website.(Theres a lot of waffle first, you have to scroll right to the bottom for the pecking order.)
Thanks for that Robin. I do feel a bit guilty about jumping the queue, but it would be daft to turn the opportunity down.

My surgery still have no information on the GP roll out yet. I suspect the surgery elsewhere in the area that is doing it is part of some trail, they are in a group of 3 surgeries.

Go for it!

I'd ask you to report back if it results in you being mind-controlled by Bill Gates, but I suppose you wouldn't be able to.

Our surgery started the roll out last Tuesday and on Thursday my 83 year old mother in law had hers. So fingers crossed mine will be not far into the New Year.

I've just checked my surgery's website and they have now started the roll out. I'll be 71 in February and Mr Marten is 72 in March, so according to the list we are in group 4 just on age alone.

I'll be very pleased to get it!

Well I am not banking on getting mine any time soon. I think I am in group 4.

I feel sorry who would be analysing my micro chip activities. It would be along the lines, oh here she goes thinking about buying another coffee, oh a further thought about going to the supermarket, ohh and now thinking about a walk around the park. Bill Gates et al would have my deepest sympathy.

Guilt-free-go for it @eggyg - it’s your right! 🙂

I don’t think the vaccine’ll arrive in deepest darkest west Wales for a while. My surgery’s website only has general info about the vaccine and vague comments along the lines of “when it arrives...”. Watch this space!o_O😉

I am wondering how many vaccines the Brussels Pfizer factory can make a day, as I have seen in Singapore media they have just received a delivery of the vaccine from Brussels.

We're both ECV and 70 (I'm exactly 70 until the middle of April, Pete will be 73 on 24th January) and yes, we await our invitations whenever we get em, and will NOT do anything whatever to risk getting it in the meantime. We won't feel guilty if we get it before anyone younger, nor less ECV than us. Shouldn't be surprised if Pete isn't in front of me as his little prob is COPD so only had 50% lung capacity on a good day in summer when we were both still active, probably less now having been locked up most of this year - and can't say I won't be jealous of him, cos I'd be lying if I said that and I try not to lie!

Just grab it as soon as you are offered it, whoever you are, you lucky buggers! is my serious advice to all and sundry.

Wonder. Dr Hilary on R2 before saying 10 vaccine will soon be available, only just switched radio on so didn't catch full interview.

Own surgery has nowt on except link to nhs website with general info.

Mum had her vaccination yesterday, which caused no problems at all. Also given another apt for follow up on the 10th January.
Like many others though she has not received an invite as a lot of mail has gone missing in this area. It was only by chance she made a comment to the HCP doing her B12 that her apt was booked.
Even though just turned 60 myself it works out that I would fall into group 4 as had a shielding letter.

That's a good point, @Pumper_Sue, shedloads of our mail seem to be stacking up in the local sorting office, judging by the emails of complaint on my Nextdoor group.

On 2 or 3 occasions we've had no post for days, then a great wodge of stuff has been delivered all at once.

if Whitty and his merry grinches keep trying to force lockdowns then nobody is going to know if this vaccine is even going to work.

A scientist on tv today said that in view of the new variant spreading so easily we should change tack and use our current stocks to give more people their first dose rather than holding on to it in order to give people their second dose, on the basis that most of the protection comes from the first dose.
This was discussed in a Commons Committee meeting this morning, the current vaccine is on Emergency License, and the MRHA would have to authorize to change its use.
What stocks? there is no great stocks, some areas have run out and have no idea when they will get more. My CCG is Tweeting that doing a phased roll out of the vaccine.
Matt Hancock has been very cagey when asked about expected delivery dates batches of vaccine, I suspect they have no expected delivery dates.
