Hi all,

Just want to say hiya! Here I am, thanks to some whopping bipolar medications, I have now been diagnosed type 2. If anyone else has both I’d love to hear how you deal with them together. Cheers!

Haha! That’s a great username. :D

You’ll see lots of mentions of the ‘diabetes fairy’ on the forum over the years, but don’t worry... it’s not you - it’s a term members here often use when their diabetes is misbehaving for no understandable reason 🙂

Sorry to hear about your bipolar and diabetes diagnoses. They must make each other harder to manage.

What meds or strategies are you using to manage your blood glucose levels?

Hiya thanks for your message. Yes having the two means I get Confused about which symptoms apply to which illness. I’m not quite sure how to manage to be honest.

At the moment I’m on 1000 of metformin and trying to alter my diet and do more exercise. Problem is I crave carbs and sugars thanks to bipolar meds and am so tired all the time. So it’s a battle.

My Hb number is 65 and my fasting level 21 last time it was checked. So fingers crossed.

Do you mind telling me how you manage please?
