Picked up a loaf of Warburtons low carb from Sainsbury yesterday, 8g per slice. Not tried it yet, I think our local Morrisons may have a better selection so will look there. It’s going to be a trial and error thing, I can feel a spreadsheet coming on!

Hi there , I use an own brand one from lidl. It has normal sized slices but is only the size of half a loaf , just enough for me . It is 10g carbs per slice and only costs 78p.
That seems like a fair bet, half size loaf but a good price.

Hi I have been using the warburtons low sugar bread - around 12 carbs per slice. Rotten as toast though! Miss the blue Warburton loaf hardly eat any bread so I feel I should buy the one I like for when I fancy it.

So far the Warburton's Danish Lighter Wholemeal Bread (£1.25 from Sainsburys for 400g sliced loaf) is ticking all the boxes. The slices are a good size and although carb content is 9g per slice it doesn't seem to set off my BG. It also tastes good toasted although the texture is more like crispbread than 'normal' toast. I may well stick with this although I've got a loaf of HiLo in the freezer to try next so I'll use that up first.

I've also recently tried the SRSLY Low Carb Keto Bread Rolls and they were terrific, a little chewy but absolutely the same size (if not bigger) than wholemeal baps and only 2.2g of carbs per roll. They didn't move my BG at all.

Snap! I do a monthly order with them and stuff myself with bread and use in place of potatoes. Prefer the seeded one as you can slice when frozen your desired size plus it tastes fantastic. None of the commercial low carb, or low sugar or low whatever come close. Carbs per slice? About 1.5, rolls? no problem about 2-3.
My sister has just bought some of the bake at home mix, have a look at this! Quite jealous actually, I don't have a bread maker.......yet.

Should point out that all the keto/low carb breads I've tried have to be stored in the fridge because (I think) they don't contain preservatives (or something like that). I keep the sliced bread in the freezer, though, as I'm only currently using it for toast in the morning, so toast it from frozen. If I decide I want, say, bread and butter with my soup I'll just bung a frozen slice in the microwave to defrost at full power for 10 seconds or so.

So while it's a very good idea to immediately freeze your bread upon delivery, I would suggest, in the case of the bread rolls, that you separate them out (I'm talking a batch of 4 baps here), wrap each one individually in clingfilm (or alternative) before putting them in the freezer so they'll freeze separately, making it easier to just get one out at a time. If you don't, you'll have a large frozen block of 4 rolls that you'll have to defrost in one go and then use them all up quite quickly.

Hi i get mine mostly from here https://www.karawaybakery.com/shop?page=2
Probably doing it wrong? But go by the sugars but only have thin slices
What a fabulous selection of breads, make sure you are looking at the TOTAL carbohydrates not just the sugar which really can be ignored. The couple I looked at were about 39g carb per 100g so a thin slice would weigh about 25g I would think so about 10g carbs which sounds pretty good.

Thing with it is two thin slices and your done for a long time while packet nonsense your still hungry/wondering when it's dinner time after most the loafs gone!
Like the ones with sunflower seeds inside loaf lasts a week

How about having it with a selection of cheese, cooked meat, boiled eggs, tuna some salad and coleslaw.

Proper bread doesn't contain preservatives either. I make sourdough from starter, flour, water and salt and my friend created the starter years ago from flour and water. As I oil the board I knead it on it also contains a little oil.

I've never looked at the ingredients or nutritional breakdown of the low-carb breads, suspect I wouldn't like them!
