I made a soda bread with courgette, very nice. I exchange some of the wheat flour for almond to lower the carb scoreIs it really nice? I am not keen on courgette bread but better than nothing.
is this one difficult to make ? Can-you use a bread maker ?
You can part exchange almond or coconut flour in some recipes to lower the carb value.ah I'm here again asking more questions. What is low carb flour? almond ?coconut? It says using the Low carb co flour but not getting this coming up on search.
I’ve got 3 of the Caldesi’s booksI believe they have published three, all worth having, if only for their low carb bread...
Katie & Gianacarlo Caldesi have several, he’s a chef, nice books. I got via Amazon
I’ve seen a few members recommending the Caldesi book, hope you get on well with it.

There are 135 pages of recipes and information on carb values in the 2003 edition of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution. It is of course American, but still useful as a starting point, I found.
I find it really peculiar that the low carb diet is acceptable in many forms except the main instigator of the present situation is somehow not - and without any research into the way of eating which has really turned around the lives of so many people.OP has already said they weren’t keen on the idea of Atkins (and it has been discussed on the thread already), so probably won’t be inclined to follow this up - even if you have found it helpful.

I went full into low carb and as I was in the hyper zone it was quite drastic. I was lucky some would not have coped but even going from 17 plus to 10 is enough of a drop in blood sugar for your body to put out an alarm call. So it is really not safe to do this without sound advice as I did.Well I am not aiming to follow a low carb approach so it’s difficult to comment, but Atkins does seem to be a divisive character (as Bernstein is with T1). Both have keen advocates, but both seem to inspire some caution in others. Perhaps it is the strictness of each approach, and people aiming for more flexibility or a ‘softer start’?
I know I would find it easier to taper from where I am, than Instantly switch with an abrupt ‘induction phase’.

The freshwell is just simple healthy low carb eating with lots of lean meat , fish , eggs , butter and healthy veg as far as I can tell ?I went full into low carb and as I was in the hyper zone it was quite drastic. Type one I cannot imagine needing to do Atkins as it is a diet. it is not just telling you about carbs but really reducing your input.
Every diet is this as I am sure you agree.
What we all need to aim for is health.
What works for one does not for another and sometimes later we can see how to do it. Freshwell is doable for me I would think now but at one time not having breakfast would have sent me doolally so to speak
The problem is all need their say and I think Drummer said what works but also like Freshwell and all other diets it's not great.
The Medettaranian diet for me was really not good and I know others love it.
We all need to get as healthy and enjoy life and we are all entitled to our views.
Yes but at first they sent me a leaflet to not have breakfast twice a week which really put me off.I will have a look into Atkins to see if I

Which is probably the best basic approach ?
It's why I have sent off for the books and meal planners
Yes that's a sort on intermittent fast approach ?Yes but at first they sent me a leaflet to not have breakfast twice a week which really put me off.
I think it depends where you are at.
All I am saying is if you do low carb be sensible. I dont know if you told us your HbA1c or not but if high its best to bring the sugar down gradually.
I think there is masses now on the website at first I got one sage green booklet.
Now there is masses of recipes and a whole more factual things added.
Id manage now all I am saying there is a huge amount to look at as are here in the living with diabetes on the front page and the scrolling down to get the meals for type two there are recipes meal plans there etc.
I agree .Yes that's a sort on intermittent fast approach ?
I am just going to cut out my takeaways , rubbish food , stick with my medication and slowly attack things that way
Freshwell is a really friendly approach and they are very helpful
