I didn’t find carbs and Cals useful. Being primarily an “adventurous vegetarian”, most of my meals were not mentioned and when they were it took me far too long and too much faff to find.
It definitely seemed more suited to more traditional “British” meals.
I had the same thoughts about the Carbs and Cals book, and also gave it away. Like Helli, I don't eat the usual British diet. I live on what I call hippy food, also known in our house as 'beany slop'.
But... now I have the Carbs and Cals app and it's MUCH better, much more comprehensive than the book. You have to pay an annual subscription (I think there's a free trial first) but I have definitely found it worth it. Couldn't manage without it now.
