Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
first day for this newbie. type 2 had a meter reading of 6-5 before breakfast yet was absolutly starving , was this a hypo?
 
Welcome Yvonne. Though it may be a good deal lower than you're used to so it would feel like one, 6.5 is actually an excellent reading. A hypo is anything under 4.0, though few treat unless they get lower than 3.5, high is anything over 7.0 and hyper is anything above 10.0.

It's good that you're able to test. Type 2s are often refused the option because it's 'not necessary', a view we strongly object to here.

How did you find out you were T2? Are you on medications or diet & exercise?

thank you for quick reply my normal reading is around 6-3 so was not a drop in bsl find it baffling ,thought it was gtoing to read lower than 4 but did read 6-5 and am not on any meds thanks again yvonne t
