A 14-YEAR-OLD who faces a daily battle with diabetes has visited the Houses of Parliament in a bid to discuss her struggles with the illness with an MP.
Lucy Averis, who is a pupil at John Taylor High School, in Barton under Needwood, met with her MP Michael Fabricant during her visit to Westminster to explain the impact of Type 1 diabetes on people’s lives.
The youngster, who also lives in the village, was chosen to attend a special event at the political hub by JDRF – the global type 1 diabetes charity.
