MEGAN Williams has to have five insulin injections a day to tackle her diabetes but she is not about to let it stop her from taking on a 4K run for charity.

The nine-year-old from Sutton doesn't let her type 1 diabetes stop her from taking up most activities a child her age would enjoy and even turns out for the boys under 9s Thatto Heath rugby team.

A pupil at St Anne’s Primary School, Megan who was diagnosed in 2012 will be taking part in the ‘Junior Great North Run’ in September to raise money for WISH CDG (Children’s Diabetes Group).

This is a group run by parents of children in St Helens and Widnes who have type 1 diabetes.
