That is a fantastic storey ! What a lovely clever guy. He must have been a good test pilot in his day !! & pickies of of motorbikes ! I can tell "Jim was a good Bloke" If it wasnt for people like him it would be harder for us lot !
 
I love it, everybody who was treated by RD Lawrence seems to have done really really well. But of course in those days there was no NHS and you paid for every time you saw your GP, dunno about hopsitals stays, so I spose if you had not much money, it would all be a lot more difficult than it now is.

And communication of course just wasn't what we have come to expect these days so you wouldn't hear about stuff - esp if you didn't join BDA - and even then, it wasn't exactly hot off the press. Cor, I remember the broadsheet newspapers they used to produce, they were like getting the Sunday Times or the News of the Screws, but on better paper - had to spread em out on the floor and lie in front of the fire to read the flipping things .....
