I really don't like Greek yoghurt at all despite lots of attempts

If I am just using half a pot of the traditional fruit yoghurts ......strawberry , raspberry , cherry etc ....full fat I suppose you would call them ....are these OK to use on my low sugar , low carb granola , with milk ?

Look at the nutritional info and find the ones with the lowest carb content, if you really have to have flavoured yoghurt.

Which one are you having? I buy the Alpro one, which is non-diary, so it doesn't have the slightly sour tang of diary versions.

Isn't there a link to suitable yoghurt......indeed all sorts of food ....for us diabetics rather than having to do it ?

It's exhausting

I think the problem is its very possible to get utterly obsessed with all this so I am trying to get the basics right

It's incredibly complicated and very stressful

I just want basic advice

I do have to have flavoured yoghurt or a diabetic healthy version of it

I can't eat Greek yoghurt , even the slightly flavoured stuff , I won't eat it

Unless you have gallons of the yoghurt then as long as you choose ones with the lower carb then you could make a few grams carb savings elsewhere to compensate. Yoghurts like Fruit Corners are higher carb than most because of the fruit puree.9

Thanks

I hope that by making drastic cuts to my previously poor diet ......in my case fast food , takeaways etc .....and by sensible reduction of other stuff .....that I can avoid what I see as almost obsessive calorie counting type management of my condition

I really don't want to become completely controlled by all this

Whilst looking around the yoghurts saw those little fromage frais yoghurt set deserts for kids

They have lower carbs and lower sugar than most traditional flavoured yoghurt so I am going to compromise and use them

And one pot is half the size of most other yoghurt servings

I make a sugar free jelly with a small amount of hot water, plus some plain gelatine which needs to be put into cold water first. Once it has dissolved - it might need a bit more hot water to dissolve completely, I let it cool down a bit, add some sugar free cordial and then a pot of yoghurt and whisk it up, then pour in frozen berries and gently mix them in.
It usually sets in a few minutes, makes a lot of desserts, keeps well in the fridge and it tastes of fruit, not yoghurt.

I agree it is absolutely exhausting trying to get my head round it all. I'm sure we will be experts soon!

Maybe have a look at some of the high protein yoghurts and consider mixing a little of these with the Greek yogurts to adds some flavour and dilute the sourness I assume is what you dislike. Dilute the ones yo7 like but are higher carb essentially. Check labels for the best compromises. Or add a little stevia/erythritol to the Greek stuff maybe, assuming sourness is the issue rather than texture.

Or find something other than yogurt for breakfast (?) …..

Thanks

I feel for you. I now don't get any pleasure from food. It's the enemy. Just try 130g carbs per day as opposed to calorie counting! I find it a bit easier. I have oatibix for breakfast with soya milk ( only because I am lactose intolerant ) So you don't have to eat yoghurt and fruit which doesn't fill me up till lunchtime. Hope this helps
