Just taken the plunge after wanting to try Yoga for years, now I have a subscription for a months unlimited classes & taken a "beginners" & "Relaxation" class.... Next beginners class scheduled for tomorrow.

Reading through the archives some people were quoting great results on BG levels, guess I'll need to test that tomorrow; hoping for good results.

When the snow melts I'll add cycling to my exercise regime...

Love yoga! Hope you enjoy 🙂

Yoga is brilliant and relaxing, and can be harder than it looks. Enjoy!!!

I'm a huge yoga fan. Great exercise, helps with insulin resistance but also very grounding and relaxing. Hope you enjoy.

I've never tried yoga, mainly cos I'm as flexible as a wooden door! All exercise, gentle or not, increases insulin sensitivity so fingers crossed it does for you, including all the other health benefits

Aye, if I got into any of those floor positions you'd have to ring emergency services. I can't get up off the floor unassisted.:(

Hope it works well for you, Martin🙂

Thanks guys, I'll post updates

Class #2, well it could be labeled as class #3 but last Sundays class was more about sitting in a lotus position chanting "Ommmmm" rather than exercise....

BG 1 hour before 5.5 (first reading 6.4 so I decided to retest assuming that my hand was still sticky from eating a jar of honey)
BG 30 mins after 6.4

The jury is still out on the effect on BG but the main thing is that I really enjoy it & it stretches my tired old joints

Will post updates

I think it's also good for strength.
That is what burns energy.
I think. I'm a Tai Chi person. It's the slow movement that it's not just flexible, but takes strength.
In yoga, is/are the movements held for some time?

They are, some are to rest & meditate🙂.... Some are for stretching & others for strength.

I do a bit of yoga, and it can be quite strenuous! It is certainly harder than it looks, and I generally end up sweating, but I really feel the benefit afterwards. I did some Tai Chi once, but only lasted a few weeks cos one of the cats had to go to the vet having been in a fight, then the following week he opened the wound so had to go round again in an emergency - I really thought he was jinxing Monday evenings 😱, and in the end I gave the class up as I rarely got to it!

Good luck, Martin :D !
