Hi everybody

It's getting me down too at the moment. My doctor gave me a good talking to about running too low all the time so I'm trying to let it run higher..... and in the meantime am appreciating how rubbish at carb counting I actually am.

On top of this, I'm on a course with work - it's just like being a student again - and there are cakes being handed round constantly. And intensive lectures, sitting down and it's dark when I get home (and there's a baby to look after, so only got to the climbing wall once in the last week That's all the exercise I get).

AGgghhhhhh! Sugars up and down like yo-yo. As is mood. Tomorrow, there is going to be NO snacking between meals and I am going to try to count the carbs properly.

Can I let you know how i get on?

Of course you can Lizzzie! Good luck - I hope that things go well for you 🙂

It's always hard when you are out of routine to keep bs on an even keel
so don't beat yourself up too much. How long is this course from work ? Can you try again at the weekend to get more control of things ? I wouldn't have the will-power to resist cakes etc...😱

Good luck with it all, I hope everything works out for you.

Please do let us know how you get on as in helping yourself you are helping others too.

Lizzzie - just one suggestion that might help - on all the work course I've been on, there is always lots of nice free food, so obviously I am tempted to eat more than usual, but have decided to resist. In the midday meal break, even if it's not very long, I usually manage to get out for a walk - not as energetic as I'd like, but not enough time to run & shower. Particularly useful to get some sunlight exposure, which helps my mood, and helps most people, apparently. Plus, it's a good time to mull over things from intensive lectures.

Think like a smoker LOL - I always had to go out for a fag, but I'd still go out even when I'd given up, it is as much a habit as the smoking and I'd feel claustrophobic (and even have panic attacks) if I couldn't see the sky at lunchtime - even when it's heaving down with rain !
