hi we all went and it was really good venue organised really well food and drinks lots of parking and the guests were really good the dogs of the medical detection dog charity and the presentation made by professor adrian bone about new research was really positive and he said "i am confident i will see a cure for diabetes in my lifetime " he is 60 years old so he maybe wont be the one who will make the discovery because he is going to retire at 65 but we should be ready for it for the next 2 or 3 decades and a lots of stuff about experiments with mice (we are 99.9 geneticly link to mice 😱 and a lots of people after 50 years with diabetes still have few beta cell producing insuline cool stuff :D it was really good and i suggest to everyone to go on one next time there wasnot enough time there was so many questions and two and half hours seem long on the invitation but is not when you are there

Thanks for the update Daniela, sounds really positive and interesting! 🙂

Thanks Daniela, it sounds as if you have had a good day with plenty of useful info as well. Thank you for sharing 🙂

So where was this Discovery Day, and who ran it?

Sounds like a good idea anyway!

it was in brighton and is organised by jdrf

I would also be very intertested in how you find out where and when the meetings are.

if you go on the jdrf websites there are all the dates all over the country and you can subscibe to their nwsletter and magazine as well (it is free ) but i always make donations during the years or if i attend any events
