Got my yearly check up next week think things are going OK but....
I have been really unwell with cough and cold symptoms this week, both me and husband have same so have picked it up outside home.
Just wondering how it will affect Hba1c if at all.Want to be ready with answers if readings have gone up

Being unwell can certainly raise BG levels for those of us with diabetes although occasionally it can also drop them.... simply because diabetes is quite individual and it doesn't always follow the same rules for all of us all of the time.

If your levels are a bit higher than you would like when you get the test results then certainly mention to the nurse that that may be the reason but I would not expect it to rise more than 2-3mmols/mol if you have been ill for a fortnight just before the test, so not a significant impact. That is of course my non medically trained opinion.
