My brother has just had his 50th diagnosis anniversary. He was just 2 years old. Diabetes care and knowledge has moved on such a long way in that time. When I get to my 50th anniversary I will be 99 years old!

On my 4 needles a day, 47 years is 68620!! lol thats loads xx

I wonder if your Mum ever thought when she had to deal with your younger years that things would come as far as you having a pump?

I wonder if your Mum ever thought when she had to deal with your younger years that things would come as far as you having a pump?

Mum is a retired nurse so always followed the progress of new things to try and keeps up to date even now she is coming up to 75 years of age. Mum does remember the pumps from the 70's and 😱 moment when she saw them at first. Mum has had a good look at my pumps demanded to know how they work etc. Even going home for lunch she always says how many carbs do you need for main course and it's dished up as requested even though I haven't lived at home for well over 30 years.

On my 4 needles a day, 47 years is 68620!! lol thats loads xx

I would suspect by that time no one will know what a needle or syringe looks like. Something would have been invented to replace them 🙂

Well done Sue, this week marks my seventh anniversary so a few years behind you.
You were one of the first people I remember meeting on a diabetes forum and that now seems for ever.
Three more years to your medal😉
