hee hee! - watch your GP try to get away with calling you a T2 NOW Laura - or restrict your strips!
Hee Hee Hee - your DSN will write out a complete LIST of everything he needs to put on repeat ! eg 200 strips per month ..... at least 2, if not more (depends on dosages) vials of your chosen insulin; what will you have as back-up - staying with a pen or syringes? whatever, needs to be on scrip. Steri-wipes. If you turn out to be a bit allergic to the sticky - Cavilon spray to protect your skin. Ketone testing kit!
I'd give him a choice in the summer if it isn't sorted before then - either keep me on your books and pocket the extra dosh you get from me being a diabetic but no need to do anything for my diabetes except provide the essential annual checks and sign the scrips (because your DSN and hospital will be the ones you will go to for all your diabetes advice) (unless you get some complication or another, God forbid)
OR
I'll take my custom elsewhere .......
I'm going to be pumping novorapid. I got told I can draw my insulin out of my cartridges (unless I misunderstood)
We didn't discuss back ups or that, just it's important I have a blood test for transglutaminase antibody before I go back in July.
I don't know what to expect when I go back in July.
I'm going on the DAFNE course in June.
And work are so pleased with the amount of hospital appointments I'm going to have (not) I was 3 hours at hospital today & my boss was mad
