I've been accepted for a pump subject to the pct funding it.

Got given the blood testing kit which goes with the pump.

Need blood tests to check for things & back in july

Great news! My understanding is that if your Consultant recommends you for treatment the PCT are obliged to fund it. You might want to get in touch with INPUT if things don't go smoothly from here on in 🙂

Really happy for you 🙂

Great news, hopefully this will help lift your mood a little 🙂

In view of the other issues you've had with funding, particularly strips, there's a useful document on www.leeds.nhs.uk showing who's covering what in the Leeds area: "Your guide to clinical commissioning groups in Leeds - NHS Leeds". I had trouble pasting the shortcut, so try googling the keywords.

Nice to hear some good news for you Laura.

I'm actually a bit giddy but my head is struggling with the new blood testing machine
I'm going to play with it when I go home

Great news! 🙂

Congratulations.

I was wondering what the meter was too.

Fantastic news Laura.

Plenty of us using the same & similar machines (Mines not for the pump) Any questions... Fire away! And congrats!!

Congratulations lauras, very happy for you, thats the monitor ive got and like you awaiting my pump. Hopefully won't be too long waiting for it 🙂

I go back 24/7 for my next appointment, not sure what happens then

But an excited to a more flexible life without worry of forgetting extra needles & cartridges (I know I'd need to draw up insulin so would need a cartridge)

hee hee! - watch your GP try to get away with calling you a T2 NOW Laura - or restrict your strips!

Hee Hee Hee - your DSN will write out a complete LIST of everything he needs to put on repeat ! eg 200 strips per month ..... at least 2, if not more (depends on dosages) vials of your chosen insulin; what will you have as back-up - staying with a pen or syringes? whatever, needs to be on scrip. Steri-wipes. If you turn out to be a bit allergic to the sticky - Cavilon spray to protect your skin. Ketone testing kit!

I'd give him a choice in the summer if it isn't sorted before then - either keep me on your books and pocket the extra dosh you get from me being a diabetic but no need to do anything for my diabetes except provide the essential annual checks and sign the scrips (because your DSN and hospital will be the ones you will go to for all your diabetes advice) (unless you get some complication or another, God forbid)

OR

I'll take my custom elsewhere .......
