Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hello,I just joined the group. I am 62 years old male , I have had type 2 diabetes for around 20 years and also suffer from Angina. My specialist wants to start me on this Xultophy (insulin degludec and liraglutide) injection, I previously lost 6 stone on Trulicity injection which I took once a week but now my blood sugars are getting slightly worse and they want me to go on the Xultophy injection which I would have to take every day.My worries are will I gain weight again. Does anyone have any experience of this Xultophy injection. Thanks

Hi there and welcome to the forum

I am of the opinion that insulin in itself does not cause weight gain, its what you eat alongside the insulin that determines that, although of course nobody can 100% answer that question for you as we just don't know

The only thing you can do is try it and see how it works for you, after all it seems like it's the best option for you if your not managing as well with your current regime
xx
