One of the joys of being retired is that you can go shopping when other people are mostly at work. 😉

So this morning I thought I'd go and get the bits that I can get now that we will need/use over the festive period.
We will then go and get the "fresh" stuff, eg: fruit, veg, bread, etc, next week.

NB: My diet ends, (well starts to end, its a six week transition back to a normal diet), on Xmas Eve, so I can eat one "normal" meal a day from Xmas day onwards.....Yah!

The turkey, stuffing and pigs in blankets are now in the freezer.
Topped up my herbs and spices (and threw out a load that were well out of date!)
Plus got few other bits.

Traffic was light and shops were pleasantly quiet, so not as bad as I thought it would be.

But I bet next week it will be bloody mayhem!

Nice one glad it went well
Havea good safe Christmas
love

In our old house, we had a nice M&S food hall near us, and I would go very early on Xmas Eve to get everything we needed in one go, in around 7am and out by 8am. Any later and the place would be swamped! Lol...
Our current house has a local M&S food hall, but its not as big/well stocked, so we are spreading the shopping over a couple of places this year....

Well went and did the last bit of Xmas shopping today (food, etc) and oh my, it was busy!
Had to have a blood test this morning (11ish) and the nearest supermarket is Sainsbury, so we popped in there afterwards.
Queuing to get in the car park, queuing to get out of the car park and mayhem in the store itself!
I thought it would be easier today, as I usually do the last bit of shopping (fresh fruit/veg, bread. etc) on Xmas eve, but no it was bloody madness. Some shelves empty, people everywhere, 15 minute queue to get to the tills!
At least its done now, we are settled for few days, tomorrow (Xmas Eve) will be even worse.
If you've not done your shopping yet, buckle up, it'll be a bumpy ride! Lol.....

Our Sainsburys Local wasn't too bad, I got straight through a self checkout! But there was mayhem in the car park and the roads leading up to it so was jolly glad I was on foot.
Tomorrow it's just the butchers and the greengrocer then I'm done...phew!
