our car club where I go is having a pre Christmas night and everyone is to bring food just wondering if anyone could suggest something for me to take so I can eat as well. People will be taking mince pies , sausage rolls and cake so i want something good for me to eat

What about some little chicken kebabs, sausages with high meat content, seafood or stuffed eggs.

Or if not too fiddley cheese and onion on sticks? Nuts!

How about mini frittatas. Use a bun tray. Great as party food.

Basically, a crustless quiche.

What is a frittatas
italian-style omelette
Basically:
Decide what to put in, vegetable, meat or cheese, or a mix of them, even better - use suitable leftovers.
Cook meat and vegetables before.
Meanwhile break the eggs in a bowl and mix with some salt and pepper.
Add the minced cheese ant the other ingredients
Mix again
Heat a pan with a bit of oil to avoid that the egg will stick when hot put all the egg mix in the pan and spread and cover
When almost cooked turn the frittata to cook the upper side.

Done.

If it is only finger food you could do fresh houmous with veg crudités. If sharing dishes, a veg lasagne.

Nobody can resist a cherry tomato. Get lots, cut the tops off and scoop out the wet innards (a grapefruit spoon is perfect for the job). Decide on your filling/s and prepare them. You only need a tiny bit for each tomato and everything must be finely chopped and well mixed. Fill the tomatoes, pop the lids back on at a jaunty angle and add a sprig of mint or basil to make them look even more appealing. I fill mine with a range of things:

Cream cheese with garlic and herbs
Grated cheese, mayo and black pepper
Chicken and honey mustard mayo
Chicken and Thai sweet chilli dressing
Chicken and curry mayo
Chicken and yogurt with some finely grated lemon zest
Chopped up ham and mayo
Hummus
Egg mayo
etc

They're really quick and easy...more of an assembly job than anything else. They're also the perfect size for party food and a nice antidote to all the carb heavy stuff that other people will bring. I've never known any to be left on the buffet table.
