🙂 6 months in.... Have stunned doc today lol... Was 78mmol 6 months ago.. With a prick test in surgery of 19. 4.....today .. 6 months down the line, 3 metformin a day.. 60 carbs per meal.... Alpha lipoic acid .. Calcium with boron vit d and magnesium.. New blood test result ... 50 mmol. Just 2 short of a remission to pre diabetes lol....doc was so??? He wants a retest.... during the 6 months had a chest infection and a serious fall down stairs that kicked in stuff .. Doc didn't say much about the early morning liver dump that I asked about on another post.... Right now I don't care....at 3am I might...
Is this good or is this good lol
Anyone want to know how I did it? Especially newbies..... Then just ask.... Walked 8 miles today... Yeah... I am hurting... Pain is relative... Ask me how much I will hurt in the morning lol.
Thank you to all that have helped and supported me...
Hugs to all just starting this journey.. It not impossible and it does not mean you have to go without or go to a gym.
please don't buy the awful stuff on line... . I am 64.. Ask if you struggling .. I was 🙂

Sounds good, well done!! I had a similar story but only did 4 miles a day during the week and 6 at the weekend.

Not so good ten years on, but still just about on the right side. 🙂

I do think that exercise is the key to really getting on top of the condition. Diet then backs that up (or more likely they're equally important!).

I opted for the easy way - started out at 50 gm of carbs a day - prediabetic level at 80 days, top end of normal at 6 months, down from Hba1c of 91 and BG of 17.1 at diagnosis.
Carbs are what cause the trouble, so avoiding them does the job. I stick to low carb, foods under 11 percent carb, and now I am trying to lose weight as I can put on weight so easily now my diabetes is effectively negated.

Yeah hun.. I agree.. To a certain extent... But . I was already walking 10 miles a day 3 times a week with my own dogs and I work semi retired 3 days a week as a canine behaviourist... I hate, loathe anything sweet but savoury carbs?.. Yummy.... But got type 2
or type 1.5.... Whatever..... Yeah bring it on lol so yep I pushed myself today re walking but... I had dropped drastically re excersise... God forbid I used to climb mountains...what I have tried to do . As in tried lol is do a silly dance to music with my dogs . After each meal about 10 minutes... God bless you all xx

I know drummer... It worked for you which is great. . But... My dogs are my life and other people's dogs are my income and I also do rescue dogs for free .. So I need energy I need a few more carbs otherwise I just faint and then get the being in a e... Have planted my Tom's and cues and aubergibes and.. Made . Rhubarb and ginger jam... Already... No sugar xx

Well done for finding a way that works for you so successfully.

That's great!

Walking is triffic, gyms suck 🙂

Wow that’s fantastic. You must be over the moon

Well done @Pollyanna.🙂 My HbA1c at DX was 156😱 but with help of this forum was down to 48 in 3 months, exercise is great keep at it.😎

I don't find any lack of energy - I am just back from Poole quay, I was charged with getting the big drum and the stick bag for the morris side to the dance spot, and back again - I played for them and will be going out later on to a music session, I have gone back to work and am heaving knitting machines about - tomorrow evening is longsword practice, Wednesday is Cotswold morris and Thursday border morris so sticks and drum to move again.
Some of the unchanging weight problem must be increasing muscle strength - I was wearing size XXL when on a high carb 'healthy' diet designed for 'lowering cholesterol' and now I can get into a M as I have changed shape and lost volume.

Brilliant, well done. 🙂 8 miles?! Phew. I'll try for 2...
