We have had news that my daughter has shown positive for coeliac on recent bloods. DSN phoned to let us know and that the next step is a biopsy via endoscopy to confirm the diagnosis or (hopefully) not. She has no symptoms, is growing well, normal stools etc

Has anyone had a positive bloods but biopsy negative, or perhaps clutching at straws here ? :(
Really upset about an invasive biopsy too (probably need a general due to age ) Await letter now to invite us to discuss the next step.

Oh, I am sorry to hear this :( I'm afraid I know little about it, but I know quite a few members are diagnosed with it, so hopefully they will be able to help.

Hi Hanmillmum Im sorry youve had this news.I know nothing of the condition if she does have it but what a worry for you and your family.Keep strong

Sorry to hear your bad news, but try to take heart from this: if the blood test was 100% reliable they wouldn't bother with the biopsy. Here's hoping.

Sorry to hear this Hanmillmum :(

I've recently met a long-term t1 who is coeliac if you do end up getting a positive diagnosis let me know and I can ask any questions you have

Thank u all 🙂

I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed atm, will keep u posted on what happens.

Sorry to hear this. Presumably the blood test was positive for coeliac antibodies? From what I've read on other forums, you need to keep giving your daughter her normal diet between now and the biopsy (ie. don't cut out gluten) so that you won't get a false negative. Fingers crossed for you.....
