Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi - I have been monitoring my blood for a few years as my mum had type 2 diabetes. I had every intention of losing weight and changing my lifestyle - feel so cross that I didn't as this may have prevented my recent diagnosis.

My blood sugar was averaging about 10 fasting. I had bloods and receptionist phoned for me to go back on Monday - blood results are high sugar (which I expected) have markers on protein as well as high cholesterol. Feeling really scared about things.

Welcome to the forum, it is a very useful and friendly place. 🙂

There is no point worrying about what you should have done, just try to not worry, but I am afraid you are going to have to make changes to your diet, lose weight, no doubt have to have some medication too, if you haven't already. I have no idea about the protein markers, but someone will be along I am sure soon to explain that. If you have any other specific questions, ask away, someone will have an answer, perhaps several different ones! :D

Hi sorry for blank replies my iPhone just went a bit mad, anyway hi welcome and please be reassured lots of advice and kind people on here to help with any queries x

I found it totally impossible to lose weight on 'normal' diets - on low carb it just happened without any effort at all.
The low carb got rid of the problem of type two diabetes as well, so bit of a no brainer that I am sticking to it and making new clothes as fast as I can now that the temperatures have dropped.
