Hi margaret, welcome to the forum 🙂 Are you on any medication at all for the diabetes? It sounds like your high levels may be responsible for many of your symptoms so you need to get an appointment to discusss possible courses of action for you to help you get them back under control. When your body can't use the sugar in your blood properly it fools your brain into believing that you need more sugar, which as you know is only going to make things worse, unfortunately. There are many other medications and treatments available to help you. How often do you test? What sort of things do you eat, and how long have you been feeling this bad?

It's possible, of course, that your symptoms may be caused by something other than diabetes, so do get things checked out soon.

There is a 'slow-release' form of metformin which many people tolerate better, so worth asking your GP about it. If you have been used to having higher levels for some time then a dip to 4.3 or thereabouts will make your body feel as if you are very low, even though this is not at a concerning level, and you will get the symptoms of low blood sugar.

Hope your appointment goes well - let us know how things go 🙂
