Hi hello need some help please thanks
I am having swelling in my tummy going to my chest feeling like pressure had all tested for my heart all other tests all come back in normal range but still suffering
Finally my GP decided to change Metformin to Sukkarto sr it is still Metformin I am worried and I can hardly have a good conversation with GP
Thanks

I am sorry you cannot have a good conversation with your Gp is there no one else you can change to within the practice? I find it really difficult to answer you and give any help because I do not know you or your history or anything that may help. I would try and say what you are feeling. Sukkarto is Metformin but it is slowly released and has a different way to work than regular metformin. It should prevent bad stomach pains but if you are still having those and are unhappy I would change my Gp or at least try and state how unhappy you are. I am sorry I cannot help more as anxiety too can cause issues and I feel for you and it's easy to be worried. I am sorry too that you are suffering and hope you can get better soon. Some change the times they take medication and have it with their main meals depending on how it is prescribed. The pharmacy also may tell you a better way to take it. Sometimes they have information to reassure you on your medication.

Hi @birdi886 Could you try phoning your GP surgery and asking for a callback from a nurse if you can’t get a doctor? I’ve had to do that before. A nurse with extra training called me back and was very good.

Sorry to hear about the symptoms you are experiencing @birdi886

It might be helpful for you to call the Diabetes UK helpline - 0345 123 2399 Mon-Fri 9-6, so that you can chat things through?
