Erik Bendl is making his way through northern Minnesota and the Headwaters of the Mississippi this week on a walk for diabetes awareness. Bendl made a stop in Lake George Thursday and planned to continue walking to Itasca State Park by the weekend. The Louisville, Ky., man plans to step in all the lower 48 states eventually. His first trip was in 2007.
