World Diabetes Day falls on 14 November every year. It’s a day when millions of people around the world come together to raise awareness of diabetes.

This year Diabetes UK are talking about the realities of diabetes. During the summer we talked to more than 9,000 people about what life with diabetes is really like.

They told us what needs to happen to build a better future for them and other people with diabetes. Together we can make it happen.

ah ah..
World Diabetes day you say .yes indeed diabetes uk does great job , gives advice ,and if you think back in to say 1993 the base , to inform everyone in every
part of the world . young old was very limited only poss by making phone calls , telex machines , yes telex to any part of the world ,
now we have mobile phones internet and the what next will be Holograms ???
so it will seem with diabetes blood test by scan s insulin that last weeks insulin implants machines that know what food you eat and how long it will give out carbs. maybe Robot doctors that you can see on screen but we will still need people to live and learn from other people and the ability to contact with shy ,withdrawn .not so sure types and the know-all to help and guide and all also not always about fundraising but awareness and the balance to help all types of nations religions so on the colour note BLUE I think for World Diabetes ..

Spent this afternoon at our local hospital raising awareness, and selling our DUK calendars.
Met lots of lovely people including someone who had only just been diagnosed.
I was glad to be able to signpost her to a variety of support (including this forum),
provide some resources, as well as give some reassurance.
Worth the time just for the time spent with her.
