Just discovered the existence of World Diabetes Day today. Never heard of it before.

What shocked me a little was that as it's on 14th November it is only 4 days off my diagnosis date. I was diagnosed 18th November.

Imagine that, almost being diagnosed on World Diabetes Day!

I think we do actually have some members diagnosed on the day itself! Although, it's one of those things - there aren't actually that many options for the day on which you are diagnosed - only 365, and if you are 4 days either side then that reduces to a 1 in 40 chance (I think!). I was diagnosed during Diabetes Week, which is the UK diabetes awareness week at the beginning of June 🙂

HI

I was diagnosed on 10 September, so had a look in diary (2013) & 2 closest days are 8 September is Grandparent's day in USA, or the other nearest is 14 September is the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). As I have a niece & nephew with birthdays on the 14th I'll go for that 1.

Take care
Lynne
