working outside in the cold

Hi,
Its been some time since ive logged on but I do have a question. I have been rostered to do a 10 hr shift standing outside in the cold with only 1 half hr break and maybe a 2nd 20 minute brea. Im used to being on my feet but inside. I have been told to refuse to do the shift as being type 2 this will be harmful but would it be? This is beyond my "normal" duties. ANY opinions on this would be really helpful...thanks

IMHO being T2 wouldn't be a problem, the caveat would be if you are on hypo inducing medication where you would need to be aware of the possibility of hypos due to the body requiring more energy to stay warm.....

I'll close this thread as it is similar to the other thread 'Can I do this' 🙂
