Building work is to begin on a ?42 million Centre for Medicine at the University of Leicester.

It will be a base for medical academics and bring the latest research and education under one roof.

The six-storey building which will cater for 2,350 students and staff, is being built at the junction of University and Lancaster Roads.

Artist?s impressions of how the new centre will look have been released ahead of work starting next week and it is hoped the building will be complete by 2015.
