Hi all, I wondered what anyone’s thoughts are on this. For background I am type 2, diagnosed on Christmas eve 2019 (!) HBA1c 78, high bmi. I feel like I have been controlling it well (but have no evidence as was told not to get a blood sugar meter), low carb diet plus lost 14kg so far. I was due next test end of March but understandably that doesn’t look like it will happen now so no idea if what I’m doing works. I have had a cough since December that variously gets better and worse (gp diagnosed chest infection). My employer knows all this. I work on a reception desk where I have daily contact with the public plus several other staff members, handling cash etc. Working from home isn’t really possible, I asked my employer if they would be happy for me to continue working as usual given gov guidelines re: social distancing (which is impossible in my line of work) and they have said it’s up to me to decide. Am I being unreasonable to think they could at least have a stance on this (risk assessment, consideration of adjusted duties etc)? I’ve seen many other posts suggesting other employers with staff in similar situations have given specific advice. Sorry for the long message, it feels good to get out my system 🙂
