Type 2
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a couple of years ago. My doctor however said that it was the policy not to give type 2 patients any meters on prescription as they do not need to test. so I went out and had to buy one and then pay for all my strips etc. I now have a new doctor who I get on with very well and she has helped me with other medical issues. Thought I would broach the subject with her this week. Within 2 days of my appointment I got a prescription for a new meter and now have a repeat prescription for all my strips and lancets. I was given OneTouch Select Plus (don't know if anyone else has used this before).

Just shows there are sympathetic doctors out there.

Way to go! I know that other people on here have had terrible trouble getting testing strips on prescription and on going battles with CCG's so a positive story is always good 🙂

Not heard of that one.
Have had One Touch Meters in the past, found them easy to use. Though strips were one of the more expensive ones to buy.

That's good to hear.

That's excellent. I feel I've been brushed under the carpet, told I don't need to measure and my D is never mentioned. We need more docs like yours.
