Just completed. Very interesting. Not something I have been asked about before.
Last time I was spoken to about sex and diabetes, I was 16 and that appointment as a whole did me damage on so many subjects. Really impacted me for a long time. It wasn't just on this subject. The Doctor hadn't adapted what he was saying to the patient in front of him. How we get treated now is much improved. However is this a gap in my care, yes.
Reproductive care / general women's issues I have noticed that I am the one who raises, so again I am not sure if this is ever brought up in appointments by the professionals. Interesting.

Well - never been raised by anyone anywhere except by me having made an appointment with who I thought would be the appropriate health care professional.

Completed. I had no idea that diabetes can affect my sex life! Would have been helpful to know. I have actually discussed this topic with my consultant and she was much more informed and helpful than I expected. I basically had a question about contraception and how it was affecting my blood sugars but once I'd raised the topic I ended up getting upset and mentioning some other related issues and it was actually a really helpful conversation. Thankfully I have a lovely consultant who I feel very comfortable talking to so that definitely helps.
