I was out yesterday, so didn’t see the women’s match but have settled in to watch the men’s final after the women’s doubles completes.

You have to feel slightly sorry for the crowds sat in the full sun for all that time. Phew!!

I would have liked the Spaniard to win again. I remember the King of Spain had agreed to attend the finals and until today had brought luck. They will both be on the circuit for years. I wonder if the Pope will make it to watch a final somewhere. I know he met Sinner ( great name) in the Vatican and he's known to still play tennis.

I was hoping it might have gone to 5 sets.

Some amazing shots and rallies, and they hit the ball unbelievably hard, but also have phenomenal touch and shot variety. It’s tennis at a whole different level. 😱

One of the best finals I have seen. No histrionics, appeals over line calls to get a rest (much better with new system) just good tennis. Excellent role models for others

Did anyone see the women’s though? I felt soooo sorry for Anisimova - she’s clearly a good player as she put Sabalenka out, but presumably the nerves got her or something, and she just couldn’t get it together at all. Like the commentators were saying though, that’s elite sport for you, you have good days and bad days and a lot of pressure, and you’ve just got to pick yourself up and get on with it. Hopefully she’ll be back stronger next year.

The ladies final - Anisimova's opponent, Swiatek. All the commentators throughout have pronounced Swiatek as if it has an N in it - SwiaNtek. Why? Pete says it's like people believing 'Lady Di' lived at Al Thropp house. Never lived at anywhere 'thropp' - she lived at Althorp, just outside Kettering.

Was entirely because Raymond Brooks Ward pronounced it wrong every time he said it, and he was always correct!

Because she's Polish? 'Shweeontek' is the correct pronounciation, with the emphasis on the 2nd syllable.

Shame that both Singles winners have served doping bans in the last 12 months, though.

Good to see an all-British pair winning the Men's Doubles, the first time since the 1930s I believe.

Awltrupp - family always called it that. Village don't. It's a Cholmondely/Chumley; Shrewsbury/Shrewsbury (seems to depend which side of the river); Marlborough/Marlborough (town or college) etc etc etc.

If you spell Swiatek’s name correctly it’s got accents on it, which presumably would tell you the correct pronunciation. Sadly we have no such accents and therefore she’s got to spend her whole life having her name incorrectly spelt in English speaking countries.

Sinner didn't look like he even broke in to a sweat
