Those hoping to get their hands on the first approved weight loss drugs in 13 years best prepare for a further wait.
The Drug Enforcement Administration is currently in the process of determining which restrictions will be placed on one of the drugs, Belviq, which was approved by the Food and Drug Administration last week.
The FDA has asked for its use to be controlled similarly to opiate painkillers, and it could be another several months before Belviq will be prescription ready. And while Qsymia, approved on Tuesday, won?t have these restrictions, the FDA first wants to ensure doctors won't start running diet pill-mills.
