Grrr - bought some absolutely delicious strawberries on Sunday - and went to get some for breakfast and they are all furry! Any ideas on how to make them last longer?

I would of thought the fridge was sufficient, but it depends how old they are when you buy them.......

You need to eat them fairly quickly anyway to gain the benefits of the vitamins etc, having said that I know if you wash them in cold water, dry them carefully, put them on a layer of paper towel ina tupperware box and put paper over them and seal the box they may last longer.

You could try removing them from the packaging, polywhatevers encourage fruit to keep ripening and therefore it goes off faster. Berries have always had a shorter shelf life than other fruits anyway, perhaps because they're softer. I'm told keeping them in the fridge can make them go off quicker too, so maybe store them in a fruit basket out of direct sunlight instead.
