I have been maintaining a low carb, high protein regime for the past 3 or 4 weeks but my body is craving for some sugar this week end, especially KitKat.
Everything I eat is so "uninteresting and bland" but boy, have my blood sugars fallen dramatically.I'm getting readings now I haven't seen for years.
What do you guys treat yourselves to when the craving is there.

Try some darker chocolate or a Belgian chocolate éclair the smaller 4 pack ones you get at supermarkets can be as low as 12g carbs each, try some strawberries with cream etc etc, I have had 3 chocolate eclairs in the past week and had a small bar of 85% chocolate last night x

Lindt dark chocolate is lovely. I got 90% the other day there from Asda.

Actually, Kit Kat's are probably the best of all the choccy bars. I treated myself last week to a chunky peanut butter one which came in at 22g carbs. Not great but could be a lot worse. Yesterday, I had a chocolate & mint protein bar. It was very nice & was only 10.3g carb. But it was £2.59, so won't be having too many of them.😱

Needs to experiment here with kitkats but not very often or I'll be back to were I was eating c**p lol!!!!

What was the make? I am looking for some low carb protein bars as going away and may be little for me to eat.

Can't remember the make. Tried to find it online but nothing looked familiar. Got it from WHSmiths.

My daughter eats Nature Valley protein bars (salted caramel and nut). They're 9.4 carbs. She's not diabetic, but she just finds they keep her fuller longer than the Nature Valley muesli bars. They are more expensive, though, but often on offer in Sainsburys.

They also do a peanut bar best of all though they are gluten free 🙂

Ah great @Pumper_Sue this may be a really stupid question to ask but are they suitable for me to have as I noticed they contain fructose and glucose syrup so wasn't sure if I should avoid them but they look so bloomin tasty xx

The bars are protein bars, have very little effect on blood sugars and both flavours are less than 10 carbs. All you need to do is count the carbs and inject for them.
My personal choice is the peanut bars.

Fantastic thanks for that 🙂 I shall be buying some of those for an after lunch treat as been eyeing them up on the Tesco website for a while 🙂 thanks again 🙂 xx

The peanut ones are my fav too. Very tasty and none spiking

You're all way healthier than me lol! My treat is either Tunnocks teacakes or peanut KitKat chunky.

My treats are either:-
1 chocolate eclair
or
1 Alpen Light Jaffa Cake bar - zesty orange - creamy rolled oats & topped with delicate dark chocolate drizzle - (5 bars in the box).
Per 19g bar = 11g carb of which 3.6g sugars 4.4g fibre - 0.9g protein 1.1g fat of which 0.4g saturates
Or
a small tub of naughty tirasimu which is my favourite guilty pleasure🙄

I've just bought 2 boxes of Cookies & Cream Fulfil protein bars for £15 off eBay (30 bars). Cheap as the are slightly out of date (7/7/14).:D
