I’ve come across articles claiming dietary benefits of this tea, including helping reduce blood glucose levels. Anyone come across this and is it just another ‘quack’ remedy?

Almost certainly a 'quack' remedy like many other things which claim to be a magic cure. The amount of active ingredient you would actually get for a cup of the stuff is unlikely to have any effect.
Google says
People commonly use white mulberry for diabetes. It is also used for high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, the common cold, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.
