I knew that I got this never realised how bad it was though, not even while dealing with my surgery DSN who I know very well and get along with very well...

I thought that I wasn't going to avoid BP tablets much longer and not after S booked me in to the my GP to discuss it..

I saw our new GP, who not only had good knowledge about diabetes and talked to me as an equal and we had a very good discussion about my pump therapy as he was really interested in pumps..

When he took my BP it was slightly lower than S's but still up in the in the 40's though.. I waited for the 'it's time to pop you on BP tablets' but no he had other idea's..

Suggested that I got myself a blood pressure monitor (did give me a suggestion to what he most accurate make) and then bring it into surgery so that I can compare it's readings with the manual cuff (they always use manual at surgery) Then take several daily readings for a couple of weeks and we can the decide what to do next etc..

Well I've done this, and my new monitor reads about the same at the surgeries... Mine said 57/8? and S's read 58😱

I've been so chuffed with my home readings as they are all around the 110/70 mark:D

Boy who could think that white coat syndrome made that much difference

A bit confused by the numbers here Ellie  110/70 is excellent, but I'm not sure what you are referring to with the 57/8? Is that your pulse rate? If so, that's also very good 🙂 My results with my home monitor are very similar to yours (although I am on a small dose of pills), but at the surgery I can go up to e.g. 170/100 😱

It should read 157 etc.😱

Les was shocked by the home reading said he knew that it would be lower than my surgery readings, but thought it would only be by something like 10 or so lower not 40 lower...

Pre-pump I was leaking protein, so they tried me on BP tablets, but I kept getting dizzy spells... Even the registra reckoned it wasn't being caused by my BP going too low but the reaction of the tablet so prescribed me the most expensive ones... Didn't cure the dizzy spells

Again I've been proved right.. That it's white coat syndrome and BP tabs push my BP too far down..

Same problem here Ellie, mine shot up from 110/65 to 150/85 ish. I now take my own readings with me each Dr visit.
