Hey all,

I had my quarterly review the other day and it flag up as my white blood cells being low and its getting tested again on Monday. I have the follow up for this on Thursday and they want the test again before hand.

My thyroid was under active in December at my annual and they want this done 6 mths after so this will be check in June. I have looked into both and they crop up together so I am thinking this maybe linked but I am not looking into this really as I don't want to worry.

Has anyone had any trouble with this before? The thyroid I aint worrying as I always knew there was issues with diabetes just the white blood count.

Cheers
Martin

Have had ups and downs with my thyroid over the years, I am also due a repeat thyroid test in a few months.

A low white cell count you tend to get infections easier as they protect your body from infection. Have you noticed any problems lately, sore throats, bladder problem, mouth sores? Some medications can also cause you to have a low white cell count.

Not diabetic myself, but I've always had a very low white blood cell count, apparently some people just do. And like squidge mentioned, it means you get ill easier. I also find it makes it impossible to shake any illness, small colds hang around forever.

Hope your doctor can give you some answers next week 🙂

Yeah I was a ware that its about infection as my dad had the issue with his white blood count when he had chemo treatment. I feel ok really and havent had anything a matter with me of late so cant figure out the problem but all will no doubt be revealed.
