All my life I have had a remarkably low pulse rate. No problem. This is not a big issue

I test my pulse and blood oxygen saturation level with a small finger oxymeter I got cheaply off Amazon

I also test my blood pressure with an Omron basic arm meter.

The oxymeter reads what I would expect ranging from 55 to about 65

The Omron reads about 8 points higher nearly every time.

I have recorded the oxymeter readings and discarded the Omron readings, but should I have done the reverse I wonder.

Which is more likely to be accurate do you think.

Check them both by finding your pulse, in your wrist or neck, and timing it for a minute.
I've got both types of meter, the blood pressure is an upper arm band, they both come in consistently around 60, which is my resting.

Hi
I got a oximeter when I got covid and still use it to check what’s going on as got ongoing issues with heart rate and low oxygen levels at times. The readings can be a little off sometimes and I put it on another finger and get a more usual reading. Also got an Omron bp device which haven’t used for a while. Probably trust heart rate on that more.

I use my oximeter to test my oxygen saturation only really. I do vaguely look at the pulse rate, but when I want to test that I do it myself by taking the pulse in my wrist.

So that’s what I’d do in your situation.

I thought Omron had a good reputation for BP meters. They often seem to be used in clinics?

I will try testing by using my wrist and counting. Could be interesting. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ok, just run a set of BP tests.

Oxymeter 55bpm
Omron BP meter 61 bpm
Me counting 63 bpm ( hard to find my pulse!!! And starting/stopping the stopwatch whilst feeling my pulse was a bit of a game)

So the winner is the Omron. No surprise there really.

Thanks for all your suggestions and thoughts.
