Just wondering which is better and healthier for breakfast, 2 weetabix with 1 banana and milk or 2 fried eggs, 4 rashers bacon a 1 tin of plum tomatoes.
I have starting having this during the week but don't know if one is better than he other or having these on different days is good.

My Diabetic dietitian advised me yesterday to have the eggs & Bacon but if i fancy a variation, have a bowl of porridge with berries for sweetness or 2 weetabix . Try poached eggs on 1 slice of toast for another variation and greek yoghurt with berries

For me, I'd say the eggs and bacon, the tin of tomatoes is going to be around 12g carb. Whereas the weetabix and banana with milk is going to contain around 60g carb, which would definitely make my blood sugar go too high for my liking. Also, I'd probably feel hungry again mid morning and end up snacking. The important thing to remember about a low carb / high fat diet is that you need some good omega-3 rich fats in your diet, so eggs are good, but can i suggest maybe half an avocado in place of the tomatoes? I don't believe in the whole idea of 'superfoods' but avocados certain are full of good fats and fibre.

Weetabix sends my bloods soaring, so id go for the eggs and bacon.

I just had a quick look and i was surprised that Cheerios are one of the best out there with 20g Carbs and 1g Sugar per serving

It really depends on your activity level.

I certainly wouldn't recommend two Weetabix with banana because of the pressure it puts on your blood sugar, but I also would think two eggs, four rashers and a whole tim of toms is a bit much to eat every single day too.

Really I'd suggest one or two eggs with one or two rashers.

Remember, it's not just about what you eat, it's how much of it you eat too.

As far as BG goes the eggs and bacon are better. As for the fat, you could boil the eggs and grill the bacon.

I fry my eggs and bacon but don't use any fat for bacon and use a squirt of spray oil for the eggs.

My vote would be for the eggs & bacon, would probably give the can of tomatoes a miss

A very common breakfast/lunch for me is a 2 egg omelet with something added, spinach/mushroom/Shallotte and of course cheese

I got a shock to find that Coco Pops are lower carbs than Shredded Wheat!

I wouldn't have a tin of tomatoes. If I have a fry up, I have one tomato sliced in half & fried.
