I have always used Gluco Navii meter and strips but the cost has risen so much. I had a quick glance and saw Sinocare works out a lot less. Do any of you use this and are you happy with it? or are there any others that are reasonably priced that you can recommend?

I agree about the cost of the Gluco Navii strips getting expensive, they used to be reasonable compared to others..I use them to supplement the meagre 50 strips my DN gives me a month for the meter she gave me (the strips if which are even more expensive.

Hope you can find one that the strips are more reasonably priced 🙂

I think sinocare is one which some people have found less satisfactory.
What price are you seeing for the GlucoNavii strips.
TEE 2 and Contour Blue are other monitors which people find good so you could check the price of those strips.

Gluco navii are £15.49 for 50 on Amazon and £12.49 Home health. I was paying less than £10 when diagnosed so have shot up in price.

Some members have reported getting false low readings with the Sinocare if you don't get enough blood on the test strip rather than an error message, which can be a bit disconcerting if you suddenly start getting readings in the 2s or 3s. The Contour Blue seems to be getting good reviews from people on the forum who use it and the Spirit Healthcare Tee2 is well tried and tested by people here and found to be reliable.

Do you need to test as much as you are testing? Sometimes I think you can just get into a habit of testing during the initial intensive period of checking different foods and developing a repertoire of meals which work for you, so perhaps you need to think about whether you need to test quite so much now and just some occasional testing will be enough to keep an eye on things?

I think part of the increase in price may be due to demand for test strips dropping as more people are using CGM devices.

After falling off the wagon over the last year (partly due to having to stop my 7-10k steps a day routine due to plantar problems) i am trying to get back on track. I am trying CGM and just need to test every now and then as been getting some wildly inaccurate results with Libre. Have now swapped to Dexcom so need to occasionally calibrate but this seems to be much more accurate for me so hopefully will save on strips and can rely on the CGM readings mostly. As i am paying for CGM and the price of strips has risen so much i was just hoping there were maybe some cheaper alternatives out there.

I'm paying £9.99 for a box of 50 strips for my Gluco Rx Q, plus shipping. If I order 4 boxes it works out at £10.86 a box.

Sorry to hear how much the Gluco Navii strips have risen in price. Contour Blue may be worth a shot. Or Tee2.

Sounds like you’ve got a good system going too with the Glucose Rx too @Martin.A 🙂

That beats Diabetic Supply, which is where I get my strips from. Might try Chemist4U next time I need to order.

I’ve been very satisfied with Chemist4U. Always a good price on my Contour Plus strips and speedy delivery
