I've been monitoring my BG now since 1 Feb 2023 using the GlucoNavii reader. I'm focusing on immediately before meals and 2hrs after (not so bothered about waking levels or those at bedtime) as I'm looking to see what spikes my glucose so that it can be removed from my diet. I've taken about 110 readings so far. Interestingly I've found that all but 2 of my pre-meal readings so far are in the T2 range (between 4 and 7) and all but 2 of my post-meal readings are in the normal, non-diabetic-at-all range (under 7.8).

While the postprandial readings are obviously fab, I don't quite understand why my pre-meal readings aren't also in the normal range. And which is the reading that's the most important - pre or post?

What diet are you doing?

That's a lot of testing if you aren't switching a lot of foods about?

I'm doing the low carb low cal (less than 800 cals) diet currently. It's literally 6 tests a day, before and after each meal. I'm interested to see what happens to my BG in relation to the food I'm eating (I've discovered that bananas are not ideal for me!), to see which of my recipes affect my BG the least, see what difference exercise makes between, say, my post-lunch reading and my pre-dinner reading. I'm a researcher by nature so all this is quite fascinating at the moment (the novelty hasn't quite worn off yet).

Between 4 and 5.9 is apparently normal. Mine are usually somewhere in the 6s.

Who on earth said that!
Mid 6 is a reading most would actually kill for.

You also need to test less, or at least accept the readings are research, and not worry about them.
They're all good ones.
Any change to diet takes at least two weeks to settle down.

And as to meter accuaracy...
A reading of 5.0 can be anything between 4.00 and 6.25 in reality.
6.0 can be anything between 4.80 and 7.50.

And I can see a difference between fingers of that on top.

A lot of us on here tend to view that as an extreme site, and just let it drift past us.
Many of us have been banned, myself included, for comments we made in the past over the views on there.
This site has much more sensible views.

(I've expanded my previous comment a bit as well)
