I don't eat breakfast during the week, but lunch today was lettuce, tomatoes, dollop of coleslaw, dollop of mackerel pate, homemade with the rest in the freezer for another day. Dinner tonight is sea bass with cauliflower and broccoli, but two fishes might be too much. D H is having smelly hot dogs........!..... Feeling so much better since having Metformin reduced to 2 x per day and one of the BP tablets moved to evening. The weekend..youngest son is marching with the Royal Marines as THE Colour Sergeant at the Cenotaph, so proud of our boy, and the eldest son, a widower which breaks my heart, is happy with a new lady, low key, shouldn't I be content???? Oh the trials and tribulation of being a mother..........B12 and flu jab tomorrow......and life.......it sucks sometimes, but there is always support......

That all sounds tasty. I have been very disorganised about my eating in the last few weeks. I've had a cold for almost 6 weeks basically I'm coughing up snot I even had my first episode of sinusitis. I went down to 2 metformin just a few days after I'd reached the magic 4. I was bunged up for first fortnight. The hcp added a SGLT2 and said he would reduce metformin. However I've found it unsettling as I was eating low carb usually. 100 to 120 and had mixed messages of how low I could now go. I'm in a bit of a muddle! It would nice to be able to speak to DCN I have failed or know when and if I may be seen again by the HCP I'm having diarrhea when ever I pooh which is often just once a week although only twice has it been heavy and never watery. I assume it's the metformin but I have had lots of stress.
Yesterday I had an appointment with an opthalmologist and my blood pressure was 160 and bg 8.1. I had tested when I first arrived two hours after breakfast and was 6.1 and was tested by the nurse 1 hour and 30 mins later. I thought I'd been missed. Having told others to keep food and motion studies I think I must start again. More stress today when I couldn't get more eyedrops as consultant hadn't emailed surgery.
I had cataract surgery in hospital Thursday and had been on oral steroids for week before and took last dose today. My BG seemed to climb through the day. Hopefully it will now reduce. I was told surgery may cause a bout of uveitis. Last one in May 2023. Yesterday I was told I have to use drops every hour. I was just on two different drops three times a day. Luckily they will taper off over the next 8 weeks. I've got my covid and flu jab Saturday. Hopefully things will improve.
I've eaten a WI cottage pie tonight trying to keep carbs up!
I will be going to fishmonger tomorrow and approve of your choices. Mackerel with its omega 6 is always good for you and seabass is a different species and something I enjoy. Sea trout is my favourite and I love cromer crab but it's out of season.
Hope we both do well!

Oh dear........
I do love your reference the WI cottage pie.....made two large ones and four smaller today for Market tomorrow, so get the fresh produced!!!!!! Have a customer who does not do onions, even onion powder, so I make them with Marmite.......oddly but she's happy and nobody else has noticed.
It all gets very messy every now and then, but I hope you are feeling better soon.xx

Thanks. It is disappointing to be putting in eye drops every hour. The surgery was fine. Surgeon was doing a commentary for the students which meant I knew when he was about to throw cold water in my eye then at one point he asked " are you OK down there" i hadn't expected him to talk to me. I was relieved as it was pain free as my sister had drops that didn't numb her eye. As I have uveitis he had to unstick the pupil as well. He wanted me to have the second within 8 weeks but there will obviously be a delay because of the inflammation. I'm hoping stopping the steroids will improve things.
Sorry for hijacking your thread. I usually buy a couple of frittatas at the WI but the person who makes them hadn't done any this week. It is a very small market.

It may be small but it's still functioning and being supported. I have made frittata but don't like them much now, so only make when ordered. Its sad as there are so few Markets now, just over 100 I think, used to be well over 300!!!! Changed times.
