I was 4.9 before bed last night, but am perfectly happy at that number because I haven't needed to take any lantus for over 4 months now - no lantus, no night hypo, right? Wrong! I woke a couple of hours after going to bed - not unusual because I've had a lot of nights of very broken sleep lately - feeling very sweaty and hot. That wasn't that unusual either as I often get hot night. However, having thrown my duvet off in an effort to cool down I found myself continuing to sweat and feel very hot. I decided to test - 2.6!!! What!!! No insulin for over 7 hours! Grrr!!! I had some fruit pastilles and went back to sleep, waking to a 5.2 this morning.

The only thing I can think is that it was a slow absorption of insulin from my injection site, although even then I had reduced my dose for tea and still come down to 4.9 before bed. Sneaky diabetes fairy! 😡

Oh the sneaky little so and so 😛 hope your OK now

These hypos are sneaky litlle ****. I hope all is OK now.

Oooft sounds horrid. no experience of it myself, but grrrr, naughty diabetes fairy!!

The thought of night hypos scares me.

That's what bugged me Laura, I thought stopping my lantus would mean no more chance of them! 😱🙄

How long since your last injection of insulin? (If you don't mind me asking 😱 🙂 )

It was around 7 hours earlier, which is why it was totally unexpected 😱 Normally, my injections have run their course in about 5 hours.
